What is THCA?

Tetrahydrocannabinolic Acid is the non-psychoactive precursor to THC, CBD, and many other cannabinoids and terpenes. THCA is non-psychoactive due to an extra carboxyl molecule ring that makes it unable to bind to the CB1 receptors throughout the brain and body. It is through the process of decarboxylation (the application of heat, ie. smoking, vaping, cooking, etc.) that the extra carboxyl ring falls off and THCA becomes psychoactive THC.
